Dr Maritz is an accomplished orthopaedic surgeon practising at  Netcare Montana, Life Eugene Marais and Cure Day Montana Hospitals, Pretoria.

He qualified as an Orthopaedic Surgeon at the University of Pretoria as well as the College of Medicine South Africa. His rooms are located at Netcare Montana Hospital.

He is a member of the SAOA ( South African Orthopaedic Association), the AAOS (American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons) as well as ISAKOS ( International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine).

 

He specialises in knee related problems and injuries, sports injuries and hip replacements.

He is a firm believer in continuous medical education. He attends congresses regularly, reads medical journals and converses with fellow orthopaedic surgeons to stay up to date and to supply his patients with a wide range of modern treatment options. He endeavours to provide initial conservative treatment and if a procedure is needed the least invasive option is selected.

He is extensively trained in the full operative spectrum but has a special interest in minimal invasive and robotic surgery.

He has performed over 250 robotic replacements and is trained to perform robotic replacements with the Cori of Smith and Nephew.
